HSBC Sucks!

Yesterday I was so furious when I discovered that my own bank HSBC (been with them for more than 7 years) deducted £50 into my account without notifying me. I called immediately and asked the reason why. The customer service said that I was charged because of my £65 overdrawn. I said that I was already charged £15 for that and I don't want to pay £50 for £65 overdrawn. I added that if that's the case then I want to close my account immediately. She spoken to her manager and afterwards she told me that they will only charge me £25 instead of £50. I answered back that even if they will charge me for £5, I will still close my account. The result? I did not pay even a penny. Why should I? Thinking about it makes me mad. I need to relax or else it will develop to wrinkles, pimples and acne. So, boys and girls you need to check your bank account regularly to avoid this happening to you.

Shiela,

Here in the country that I live in, it's worse than that!

An overdrawn cheque would mean:

1. No payment is made against the issued cheque.
2. A fine of USD 70 is imposed.
3. The Account is frozen for two years by the Central Bank.
4. The Account holder has no way whatsoever to open a new Check account with any of the Banks throughout the country.
5. Go red in the face explaining the "misjudgement" of the dishonoured check to the payee.
